Who has the right to the forest?

There are many different actors who have interests in the forest and the land it grows on, and this often gives rise to conflicts. For example, there might be a conflict of interest between the forest owner who wants to clear the forest and the wild animals that live there. Or between the clothing manufacturer who wants to make garments from wood fibre, so-called viscose, and the indigenous people who are dependent on the forest for their very survival. So how should we deal with conflicts of interest? Who has the right to the forest and the land?

This exercise is taken from the Learning Outdoor Teaching Series from the Nature School Association (Naturskoleföreningen).
